Remote Drilling

Remote drilling enables drilling activities to be conducted during times when the drill sites are inaccessible due to underground firing, which would normally result in lost hours.

Average re-entry delays at one mine site were up to five hours, depending on the size of the stope and the areas of the mine being drilled. We are now using that time to not only drill but pull the rods as well.

We are achieving around 30% reduction in rig down time, which has increased drilling productivity and contributed to additional ore being available for mining from grade control drilling.
