Our Story

Metres Down Under Pty Ltd (MDU) is a privately-owned drilling company based in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Western Australia, and specializes in the use of In-The-Hole-Hammer (ITH) technology for underground applications.

The company was started in 1997 and currently owns and operates a versatile fleet of modern underground ITH drill rigs.

Management and staff have many years of experience in all aspects of underground ITH drilling and mining techniques.

MDU is now the largest single ITH drilling company in Australia and one of the largest companies of its kind globally.
